Driver resume example

Employers want to know what you are licensed to drive, what you have actually driven, and whether you can be trusted with the vehicle and the cargo. State your license type and DL codes, the vehicles and routes you handled, and your accident and violation record. On-time delivery and basic maintenance habits set you apart from other applicants.

A driver summary you can adapt

Professional driver with 7 years of experience on company cars, L300 vans and 6-wheeler closed vans across Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga. No at-fault accidents or traffic violations on record, with daily vehicle checks and complete delivery paperwork.

Two or three sentences: who you are, how long you have done it, and the strongest proof. Replace the details with your own.

Bullet points that work

Delivery Driver

  • Drive a 6-wheeler closed van on Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga routes, completing 18 to 22 drops a day.
  • Kept a 97% on-time delivery rate over the past 12 months, with no damaged or missing cargo claims.
  • Have driven about 4,500 km a month for 4 years with no at-fault accidents and no traffic violations.
  • Do a 15-point vehicle check before every trip and report defects early, which cut unplanned repairs on the unit to 2 in the past year.

Company Driver

  • Drove a sedan and an L300 van for 3 managers and the sales team, averaging 6 trips a day within Metro Manila.
  • Delivered documents, bank deposits and product samples to 40 client offices with no lost items.
  • Scheduled preventive maintenance and LTO registration renewal for 2 company vehicles and kept fuel logs up to date.

Each one says what was done and gives a number. Use your real figures; an honest small number beats a vague claim.

Tips for your driver resume

  • State your license type and DL codes near the top, and say whether you drive manual, automatic or both.
  • Name the vehicles you have driven by type and size, such as sedan, L300, 6-wheeler or 10-wheeler.
  • Describe your safety record in plain terms: years without an at-fault accident, and whether you have any violations.
  • Mention the areas you know well. Route knowledge matters a lot for delivery and family driver jobs.

Common questions

Should I put my driver's license number on my resume?+

No. Write the license type, DL codes and expiry date. Give the license number only when the employer asks for it during screening.

What are the old restriction codes called now?+

The LTO replaced restriction codes 1 to 8 with DL codes such as A for motorcycles, B for cars, B2 for light goods vehicles and C for trucks. Use the codes printed on your current license card.

What should I write if I only have family driver experience?+

Write it as a job: the years you worked, the vehicles you drove, your usual routes, and duties like school runs, errands and car upkeep. Add that you have a clean record if you do.
