CV or resume — which one do you need?
In the Philippines the two words are often used for the same thing: a one or two page summary of your work, education and skills. If a local job post asks for a CV, a well-made resume is almost always what they want.
A full curriculum vitae is longer and is used for academic, research, medical and some overseas applications. It lists your education in detail, plus publications, presentations, licences and awards, and can run to several pages.
When you apply abroad, check the country's custom. Many employers in North America expect a short resume with no photo or personal details; parts of Europe, the Middle East and Asia are used to a longer CV, sometimes with a photo.
