What makes a resume ATS-friendly?
An ATS-friendly resume is one whose text comes out of the PDF cleanly and in the right order: your name and contact details first, clear section headings, job titles with employers and dates, and skills as separate words. Fancy layouts aren't the problem by themselves — broken text extraction is.
Common causes are text placed in images, sidebars that read before your name, letters spaced so widely they split apart, and skills that merge into one long word. HiredBound's templates are tested against exactly these problems.
