Why track your resume?
Knowing your resume was opened tells you when to follow up — and which applications aren't getting read at all. If a link sits unopened for a week, a short, polite follow-up or a different channel is worth trying.
Instead of attaching a file, send a link. Make one per company and you'll see exactly who opened it, when, for how long, and whether they downloaded your PDF.
Label it — 'Acme, Product Designer' — so you know who it went to.
Paste it in an application form, email or LinkedIn message.
Views, unique viewers, time spent and PDF downloads — plus an email the first time it's opened.
Fix a typo after sending? The link already shows the update.
Viewers are never identified — you see counts, device type and the referring site.
Pause a link and it shows 'not active'. Turn off PDF downloads per link.
Link previews in Slack, Messenger or LinkedIn aren't counted as views.
